# Building Information Modeling

## Program Summary

By combining your graphics expertise with broad construction knowledge, you can help revolutionize the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry through building information modeling (BIM) — a powerful, collaborative and technology-driven approach.

As a BIM major, you’ll gain the skills to help construction teams design, document and build more efficiently. You’ll work with industry-standard software like AutoCAD and Revit to create 3D computer models that allow you to visualize structures from any angle, swap out materials like brick or siding, and walk through spaces room by room. Along the way, you’ll learn core concepts in carpentry, steel, plumbing and electrical systems. Your work will be used by designers and project managers throughout the construction process — from material selection to estimating — making you an essential part of every build.
