The College of Agriculture has several scholarships available for prospective students as well as undergraduate students currently enrolled in the college. We award approximately $2.5 million in scholarships each year to the undergraduate students in the college, made possible by the generous support of our Alumni and Friends. The College of Agriculture is well known by and invites applications from students who participated in FFA and 4-H. We encourage applications from students of all backgrounds and experiences who can demonstrate scholastic excellence, civic or citizenship engagement, and character and leadership development.
Scholarships are awarded using a holistic review of information provided on the scholarship application. Scholarships from the College of Agriculture are competitive. Awards are based on criteria, and student credentials and information presented at the time of application and are nonnegotiable. Purdue does not match offers from other institutions and does not consider requests for aid.

How to Apply
- Complete one scholarship application to be considered for college level scholarships. Some departmental and additional scholarships may require additional applications.
- Incoming and transfer studentsare encouraged to complete the College of Agriculture Scholarship Application prior to being admitted to Purdue University. The College of Agriculture will only offer scholarships to applicants who are admitted. To receive funds, admitted students will need to have majors in the college.
- Incoming students must submit their admission application and all required materials by November 1 to maximize consideration for university-wide and college scholarships and to receive an admission update on January 15.
- Transfer students applying to Purdue must submit their admission application and all required materials by April 1 to maximize consideration for university-wide and college scholarships.
- Current Students must complete the Scholarship Application each year, even for renewable scholarships.

Purdue's National and International Scholarship Office
NISO ScholarshipS Week
The National and International Scholarships Office (NISO) holds a Scholarships Week every September. The week-long fair includes information sessions on the distinguished awards NISO coordinates and how to secure campus endorsement.
There are many scholarship opportunities to explore from studying a language abroad and jumpstarting your career in environmental policy to researching a STEM topic and attending graduate school for the arts, humanities or social sciences. NISO offers overview sessions for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program as well as for the Rhodes, Marshall, Mitchell, Gates Cambridge, Churchill, and Schwarzman scholarships for graduate school abroad and Stanford Knight-Hennessey Scholars Program.
The National and International Scholarships Office (NISO) coordinates Purdue’s campus nominations for 14 prestigious, external awards. NISO is open to every Purdue student and will guide candidates through the application process for select scholarships and grants. The office is located in the John Martinson Honors College.

Office of Experiential Education
The Office of Experiential Education has financial support available for students participating in experiential education opportunities. Funds can be used for educational expenses incurred while participating in experiential education. All funds will be applied through the Financial Aid system.
To qualify, applications must be submitted appropriate due date as listed below:
- For summer funds, applications are due by February 22
- For fall funds, applications are due by May 15
- For spring funds, applications are due by November 1
Eligibility
- Purdue West Lafayette undergraduate or PharmD degree-seeking student
- Good academic standing
- Enrolled full-time or part-time for Purdue courses for the term in which the scholarship is received
- Meet financial aid citizenship requirements

Lilly Scholars
The Lilly Scholars at Purdue Program is open to current high school seniors applying to Purdue University with the intent to study one of the eligible majors. Preference will be made for undergraduate students who have an interest in the pharmaceutical industry. Consideration will only be given to those who apply to Purdue University by the Early Action application deadline of November 1.

In partnership with the Indiana 4-H Foundation, the Indiana 4-H Youth Development Program annually awards more than $125,000.00 in scholarships to 4-H members to pursue post-secondary education. Scholarships are awarded to recognize youth participating in Indiana’s 4-H Youth Development Program on their achievements and life skill development resulting from their participation in a variety of 4-H experiences. CATE Grant Support\ Agriculture students, staff, and faculty may apply for CATE funding to support activities and events with a focus on off- or on-campus leadership conferences, meetings, and workshops. The deadline for Spring funding is February 1.\ \ CATE Research Opportunities\ Grants are available to support undergraduate research. An Agriculture student, on behalf of their faculty mentor can submit a request for funding. If selected, the faculty member receives $500 per student to offset the cost of supllies and expenses incurred during the student's research. You are only eligible for funding once per academic year. The deadline for Spring funding is February 1.\ \ Martin Agricultural Research Fund Scholarship \ Annually, the Office of Academic Programs awards multiple $2,000 scholarship ($1,000/semester) to students who demonstrate high academic performance, quality research contributions, and a desire for continued learning about research in agriculture. The scholarship is applied towards student's Purdue tuition and fees in the following academic year through the Financial Aid Office. The Office of Agricultural Research and Graduate Education provides an additional $500 to the student's faculty mentor for supplies and expenses incurred during the student's research. These scholarships are very competitive awards with recipients and mentors being selected by the College of Agriculture Administration. Application deadline is April 7, 2023 at 5:00pm for the Fall 2023 - Spring 2024 academic year scholarships.

What are the different sources for scholarships for College of Agriculture students?
Scholarships can come from the university, college, and/or a student’s academic department. Additionally, some students may be awarded private scholarships from sources outside the university.
Do students need to complete the College of Agriculture scholarship application every year?
Yes. To be considered for scholarships from the College of Agriculture, students must complete the College of Agriculture scholarship application every year. There are different versions of this application for first-year incoming, continuing, and transfer students that can be found on . The completed applications are shared with each department in the College of Agriculture for departmental scholarship awarding. Some departments may have additional forms for students to complete.
Should first-year incoming students complete the incoming student scholarship application before they know if they have been admitted to Purdue’s College of Agriculture?
Yes. We encourage all students applying to the College of Agriculture to complete the incoming student scholarship application by December 15th – even if they don’t yet know if they have been admitted.
Do students need to complete the FAFSA every year?
Yes. We encourage all students applying to the College of Agriculture to complete the incoming student scholarship application by December 15th – even if they don’t yet know if they have been admitted.
Are scholarships from the College of Agriculture and departments automatically renewable?
No. Scholarships from the College of Agriculture and a student’s department are not automatically renewable. A student must complete the College of Agriculture scholarship application every year to be considered for scholarships.
Why may a scholarship offer change from the previous year?
There are several reasons that a student’s scholarship total from the College of Agriculture may increase or decrease including, but not limited to:
- The student did not complete the College of Agriculture scholarship application for that academic year for scholarship consideration.
- A student no longer, or now, qualifies for a scholarship. This could be due to the scholarship requiring:
- A specific GPA range or threshold
- Financial need (a FAFSA must be filed each year)
- Scholarship specifically states that it cannot be renewed or is for a specific academic level (e.g. Incoming or junior-level students only).
- Scholarships from other sources may affect a student’s cost of attendance. If the total amount awarded to a student exceeds the total cost of attendance or if the award designation does not meet regulations, the amount of the scholarship(s) may be reduced or removed by the university. The total cost of attending Purdue University, the total amount awarded to a student from all sources, and other regulations will be considered by the university for a student’s final aid package.
How do students get their scholarship?
Only scholarship recipients will receive email notifications from the college. Award notification timelines are listed under ’Scholarship Applications and Important Dates’ section on this webpage. \ \ Students must confirm their enrollment to have scholarship funds added to their accounts. Scholarship funds will be applied to bills 10 business days before the first day of classes per Federal Regulations.
