A-level exam scores may be eligible for transfer credit at Purdue University. Discover which exams qualify for credit evaluation, required scores, documentation and additional information.
## Credit Evaluation
- Exams may be taken at either the **Advanced (A-level)** or **Advanced Subsidiary (AS-level)**.
- The following A/AS-level exams are eligible for credit evaluation:
- **Cambridge International A/AS-levels**
- **Oxford International AQA A/AS-levels**
- **Pearson Edexcel A/AS-levels**
- **AQA A/AS-levels**
- **OCR A/AS-levels**
## Required Documentation for Credit Evaluation
To have your A/AS-level exams evaluated for credit, you must provide the following documents to the Office of Admissions:
- **Cambridge International A/AS-levels:** Submit either an official score report ordered directly from Cambridge or a copy of your official certificate.
- **A/AS-levels from all other exam boards:** Submit an official certificate or a certified true copy of your results certificate.
### Credit and Grading Information
- A-level exams are graded on a scale of A to E:
- **A** is the highest grade.
- **E** is the minimum passing grade.
- **Undistributed credit** will be granted for grades of e/E and higher on qualifying Cambridge International Exams.
- **Direct course equivalencies** (where available) require a minimum grade of b/B or higher.
### Understanding Undistributed Credit
- Courses listed as “1XXXX” transfer as undistributed credit, meaning Purdue does not have a direct course equivalent or the minimum grade requirement for course equivalency has not been met.
- Undistributed credit appears on your Purdue student record as credit hours within the respective subject area.
- Following admission, consult with your Purdue academic advisor to determine how undistributed credit may be best used to meet curriculum requirements within your degree plan.
