Program Summary
Purdue’s financial counseling and planning major prepares you to help individuals and families achieve financial security through expert advice and education. Our top-ranked major combines coursework in personal finance, investments, tax law, retirement planning and risk management with hands-on experience using industry tools. Learn from faculty who blend theory, research and real-world practice. This major is the only one on campus registered with the Certified Financial Planner Board, and completion satisfies the education requirement for CFP® certification — the industry’s most respected certification. Students also complete internships and case competitions and have opportunities to connect with employers and professional networks.
