Experienced Teachers
Learn from Highly Qualified Teachers
At ELA, we have a team of expertly qualified and experienced teachers and academic staff. All teachers hold bachelor’s degrees as well as an English Language Teaching qualification (CELTA, DELTA, MTESOL). Our Academic Team are here to help students to get the most out of their learning and are able to support students both with their English language objectives and their future academic goals at The University of Auckland.
Teachers use a communicative language teaching methodology to give students opportunities to communicate in meaningful ways
The courses and content are based around real-life English, so that students can be confident in their language outside the classroom in different contexts
Students have opportunities to work in groups with classmates from different cultures

As an English test and teacher training centre, we hold:
Membership of English New Zealand since 2024
Registration by IELTS New Zealand as an IELTS test administration centre since 2001
Registration by Cambridge Assessment English as an approved administration centre for the Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) since 2007
Registration by Pearson Inc. as an approved Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) centre since 2017
