Application

Visit the Student Application Login Portal and complete the online enrolment form. Ensure you read the Conditions of Enrolment.\

Offer of Place

You'll receive an offer of place via email within 2 working days if your application is successful. The offer will include an invoice for all fees.

Fee Payment

Pay your fees by bank transfer or at ELA reception. A 2% surcharge applies to credit card payments. You can also pay through online credit / debit card / bank transfer via Flywire.

Certificate of Enrolment

Once we receive your payment, we'll send you a Certificate of Enrolment and a receipt.

Online Placement Test

If you're a non-pathway student without IELTS/PTE/TOEFL scores, you'll take the ELA's internal placement test three weeks before your course start date.

How do I apply?

You can apply through our web portal.

What are the admission requirements?

Our Study with ELA page has all the admissions requirements.

When is the application deadline?

You should apply at least three months prior to your programme start date. It is also important to check the Immigration New Zealand website for current visa processing times.

How long does the application process take?

This depends on the information that you provide to support your application. Complete applications will be processed faster than incomplete applications.

Can I apply for multiple courses?

Yes, if you’re considering progressing from General English to Academic English.

What is the minimum age for application?

You must be 18 or older on the first day of your course.

What is the maximum class size?

The maximum class size for Academic English and University Pathway Programmes is 18, and the only exception is the additional input sessions in Summer School which are delivered in lecture format for groups of fewer than 40. For CELTA, the maximum class size is 12, and for other programmes, it is 20.

Do I need a visa?

Please refer to the Immigration New Zealand website to see what visa you need to study in New Zealand.

Do I need insurance?

All international students required to have insurance while studying in New Zealand. Refer to our insurance page.

When do I need to pay my fees?

All fees must be paid four weeks prior to the course start date to secure your place in the course and homestay.
