Programme overview

New Zealand’s infrastructure is expected to grow dramatically in the next 20 years. Our new buildings, roads and water systems are going to need people who know how to take care of them. Get a head start in this exciting field with the MInfraAssetMgt, designed to equip students with the skills, knowledge and expertise to be effective employees in an essential field.

Programme structure

There are eight ways to complete a MInfraAssetMgt. Your selection will depend on your technical and educational background and career goals.

The MInfraAssetMgt will be available with 120 and 180 point taught and research pathways. In addition to a general option, there are also two optional taught specialisations available in:

How much does a Master of Infrastructure Asset Management cost per year?

2026 fees

Domestic students : NZ$21,843.60*

International students : NZ$55,864*

Fees are set in advance of each calendar year and will be updated on this website. Fees are inclusive of 15% GST, but do not include the Student Services Fee, course books, travel and health insurance, or living costs. Amounts shown are indicative only. In addition to the tuition fees, there is a Student Services Fee of $9.44 per point, estimated at $1,132.80 for full-time study (120 points). Fees will be confirmed upon completion of enrolment into courses.

The Strategic Asset Management and Planning specialisation involves techniques used to undertake high-level infrastructure investment planning.

The Network Management and Systems specialisation involves techniques and software systems that assist in the whole-of-life analysis of infrastructure groups, portfolios or networks (e.g. electricity, water and roads).

The general option will consist of a blend of the two specialisations.

There is a significant demand for qualified infrastructure asset management professionals across a range of disciplines. Potential career paths include data management and analytics. Senior roles also arise around investment planning applications and the management of linear infrastructure networks (pipes, roads and power networks).
