# Kohia PCT Programme Year 1 & 2 (0-8) Northland

The year one and two programme is designed to support teachers in their first or second year in the profession work towards the Standards | Ngā Paerewa for full teacher certification.

Experienced mentor facilitators will guide participants through inquiry that aligns with their school’s professional growth cycle while being responsive to the needs of individuals.

Friday, 12 June 2026 (St Francis Xavier Catholic School, Whangarei)

Friday, 4 September 2026 (St Francis Xavier Catholic School, Whangarei)

Friday, 6 November 2026 (St Francis Xavier Catholic School, Whangarei)

**Modality:** In-person

**Duration:** 10:00am - 2:30pm

**Price:** $590.00

**Short course structure and topics covered:**

This year one and two programme will cater for individual needs and contexts, engaging with Our Codes Our Standards to include knowledge building in preparing for full certification, goal setting and action plan development. Reflective practice, effective pedagogy, classroom management, culturally responsive and relational pedagogy, lesson planning, assessment for learning, and core learning areas such as mathematics, literacy, science will be addressed.

Teacher reflection models will be shared, and participants supported to identify and maintain naturally occurring evidence that demonstrates they meet the Standards for the Teaching Profession, as they work towards full certification.

Mentor facilitators will ensure that expectations and guidelines from the Teaching Council are understood and implemented.

Participants will benefit from the opportunity to share experiences and collaboratively problem solve with colleagues.
