This mentoring programme is designed to support teachers in their second year in the profession to meet the Standards | Ngā Paerewa for full teacher registration and a full practicing certificate.

Experienced mentor facilitators will enhance participants inquiry skills and knowledge that aligns with their school’s professional growth cycle while responding to the needs of individuals.

The year two programme will include knowledge of the new Literacy and Maths Curriculum and strategies that support classroom practice.

These sessions will include interactive lessons, collaborative practices, provision of resources, and participants will have the opportunity to connect with other colleagues in their region.

Thursday, 19 March 2026 (Greenhithe - North Shore)

Thursday, 21 May 2026 (Greenhithe - North Shore)

Tuesday , 16 June 2026 (University of Auckland - city campus)

Tuesday, 18 August 2026 (University of Auckland - city campus)

Thursday, 17 September 2026 (Greenhithe - North Shore)

**Duration:** 10:00am - 2:30pm

**Price:** $890.00

**Short course structure and topics covered:**

The year two programme will cover preparation for full certification, collection of evidence, reflective practice, effective pedagogy in core learning areas such as mathematics, literacy, science, refining classroom practices relating to culturally responsive pedagogy and assessment for learning.

- Developing relationships with colleagues in the region to share experiences and collaboratively problem solve
- Teaching Council expectations are understood and being met
- Working towards satisfactorily meeting Our Codes Our Standards through inquiry aligning with schools existing professional growth cycles
- Teacher reflection models evaluated, naturally occurring evidence demonstrates they meet the Standards for the Teaching Profession in meeting the requirements for full registration
- Curriculum knowledge building
- Effective pedagogical practices modelled
- Behaviour management strategies shared

Teachers in their second year of teaching
