The School of Computer Science at the University of Auckland invites applications for a Lecturer position in Data Science/AI.

We seek an outstanding researcher and teacher who will contribute to our Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and broader Computer Science programmes. Applicants should demonstrate strong research potential or achievement, an excellent publication record relative to career stage, and a commitment to high-quality, research-informed teaching.

We welcome applications from candidates working in any area of data science.\ However, applicants whose research intersects with Artificial Intelligence will be particularly competitive.

Candidates who can teach foundational Data Science while advancing the School’s strategic strengths in AI are strongly encouraged to apply.

Our academics undertake research across a wide range of computing fields: software engineering, data science, algorithms and theoretical computer science, cyber security, communication and information technology, and systems development and evaluation. We teach in the Bachelor of Science, Technology, and Engineering programmes as well as supporting a vibrant postgraduate programme that attracts top-quality Masters and PhD candidates.

Your contributions will include world-class research, publishing in world-class journals and conferences, securing research grant funding, high-calibre teaching as well as supervision of capstone projects and dissertations at the Master and PhD level.

Remuneration ranges between $99,788 – $112,730, depending on skills and experience
