This mentoring programme is designed to support teachers new to the profession work towards the Standards | Ngā Paerewa for full teacher registration and a full practicing certificate.

Experienced mentor facilitators will guide participants through inquiry that aligns with their school’s professional growth cycle while being responsive to the needs of individuals.

The year one programme will include knowledge building around the new Literacy and Maths Curriculum.

Short course structure and topics covered:

The year one programme will include knowledge building in preparing for full certification, goal setting and action plan development, reflective practice, effective pedagogy, classroom management, culturally responsive and relational pedagogy, lesson planning, assessment for learning, core learning areas such as mathematics, literacy, science, and language through the arts.
