About SHS
Student Health Services provides quality primary medical care, including urgent care and support services. We have board-certified primary care physicians and nurse practitioners.
Primary Care
Primary Care Providers
- All students can establish care with a SHS primary care provider (PCP)
- PCP are assigned to one of 4 groups at SHS
- Bios and photos for physicians and nurse practitioners are available for review.
- If you wish to choose or change your PCP, contact SHS at 858-534-3300 or through Ask-a-Nurse on MyStudentChart.
Making an Appointment
- Once you have a PCP, you can schedule appointments by calling your provider's group directly.
- If your provider is not available, every effort will be made to schedule a visit with another provider from the same group.
- If you do not have a PCP contact SHS at 858-534-3300.
- Refer to the Cost of Services page for fee schedules.
After-Hours Nurse Advice Line
- Any time Student Health Services is closed, you can call our regular telephone number 858-534-3300 and select the option "After Hours Advice" to speak with a registered nurse who will assist you in obtaining the appropriate care.

Other Services
Pharmacy
SHS Pharmacy is open with new extended hours on Monday and Tuesday until 6 p.m. and has special discounts for prescriptions and OTC medications!
Optometry
SHS Optometry is open by appointment only for your routine and urgent eye care needs.
