Research Summary

Dr. Yousif’s research is broadly interested in adverse drug events, with a particular interest in drug-induced kidney injury (DI-AKI) in adult and pediatric patients. Current research efforts are focused on utilizing electronic health record (EHR) data and real-world evidence (RWE) from large nationwide data repositories to elucidate the risk factors of DI-AKI in patients treated with nephrotoxic drugs. Additionally, Dr. Yousif’s research aims to apply statistical and machine learning methods to predict health outcomes across various diseases and health conditions.

Education: Doctor of Pharmacy, UC San Diego Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SSPPS) (2018); Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Biomedical Informatics, UC San Diego School of Medicine (2021); Master’s in Advanced Clinical Research, UC San Diego (2021); Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Health Economics and Outcomes Research, University of Illinois Chicago School of Pharmacy and Takeda Pharmaceuticals (2022).

Awards and Honors: Becton Dickinson Pharmacy Informatics Recognition (2020), Phi Lambda Sigma Pharmacy Leadership Society (2016), Walgreens Diversity Scholarship Award (2016).
