Quetzal is from San Diego, CA. He received his BA in Neurobiology from the University of California Berkeley. Now, as a graduate student at UC San Diego in the MD/PhD program he focuses on understanding how transplanted interneurons in the visual cortex result in the opening of a second period of plasticity.
Fun Fact
Quetzal loves martial arts and regularly trains Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
