Profile

Mai Nguyen, MS ’90, PhD ’95, uses data and the extraordinary processing power of the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) to create fire models. As the associate director for artificial intelligence in the WIFIRE Lab and the lead for data analytics at SDSC, she is using information from sensors, images and advanced computing to support local firefighting efforts and develop large-scale cyber infrastructure to help mitigate or prevent fire disasters.
