Chair Professor, Chemical Engineering Department, and IRC-HTCM Affiliate

a leading scholar in water, energy, and environmental technologies — specializes in green solvents for CO₂ capture, advanced water treatment, biodiesel production, waste valorization, and membrane-based solutions. Ranked among the **top 1% most-cited researchers (Clarivate, 2018–2019)** and the **top 2% of world scientists (Stanford, 2020–2024)**, his achievements include the **IChemE Global Water Award (2018)** and **1st Place in the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award**.

**About the Seminar:**

In this seminar, Prof. Aroua will explore **Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU)** as a transformative pathway toward **Net Zero emissions**, showcasing innovative methods for CO₂ conversion and the **valorization of waste materials** to create efficient CO₂ capture agents—turning emissions into valuable solutions for a sustainable future.
