##### Photovoltaic Research Laboratory

The Photovoltaic Research Laboratory at IRC-REPS nurtures the science and engineering of solar energy to produce low-cost and efficient solar cells with better thermal stability. It also integrates the dust and high temperature issues on the PVs and other renewable energy technologies. The facility enables advanced material synthesis and characterization for perovskite, quantum dot, and other thin film solar cells. It also houses computational research, and basic science studies. In addition, several outdoor and indoor PV testing facilities are also available.

###### Processes to make solar cells include:

######

- Sputtering
- Thermal evaporation
- Atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition.
- Spin coaters
- Chemical (wet) processes are used to develop quantum dot, perovskite, and other materials for next-generation PVs.
- Glovebox, clean room, and other support facilities. \

###### Characterization includes:

- Horiba PL
- Micor PCD
- Hall-effect
- UV-Vis-NIR
- Raman
- Profilometer
- Ellipsometer
- FRIT
- FESEM
- UV- accelerated weather machine
- Indore and outdoor IV measurement systems
