It is more and more known that buildings must be designed for future climate conditions. The energy transition is a pathway to transforming the global energy sector towards zero-carbon systems, requiring building physics to provide new solutions. These solutions require an integrative and holistic approach to all aspects affecting energy performance and city sustainability. This keynote provides a platform for recent research exploring the impacts of climate change on buildings and presents several nanotechnologies developed to make buildings more resilient.
