Treatment of Produced Water/Industrial Wastewater

Water pollution has become a major environmental issue due to oil spills and industrialization. This issue has been addressed using coagulation, ultrasonic separation, ozonation, and membrane separation. Membrane separation technology is a promising and efficient oil/water separation method. Ultrafiltration (U.F.) and microfiltration (M.F.) polymer composites separate oil and water. Metal mesh, metal oxide, and textiles were tested for oil/water separation.
