# Undergraduate Concentrations (CX)

### Complement your major by adding a focused specialization in emerging fields such as cybersecurity & blockchain, enhanced oil recovery (EOR), or mechatronics.

## Sharpen Your Competitive Edge

Designed for motivated students, these additional concentrations (CX) are not standalone degrees but carefully structured extensions of your main program. They resemble minors in Western higher education systems and help consolidate your expertise in areas that are directly applicable to the job market.

Each concentration allows you to acquire both conceptual knowledge and practical experience through a built-in, targeted courseload of **four courses (12 credit hours)**, usually taken in your senior year. **All undergraduate students who have completed the minimum number of credit hours and course prerequisites, maintaining a 2.0 GPA or higher**, are eligible to apply. Students are encouraged to register early due to the program’s competitive nature.

These concentrations will enhance your understanding of key technologies and prepare you for competitive roles in high-demand sectors. Whether you’re interested in industry-specific skills or research-oriented learning, they allow you to explore your field in greater depth. Some options connect you with mentors at one of KFUPM’s interdisciplinary research centers, giving you the opportunity to gain real-world insight and refine your research abilities in preparation for advanced studies or professional work.
