The Interdisciplinary Research Center for Hydrogen Technologies and Carbon Management (IRC-HTCM) at KFUPM invites highly motivated and dedicated postdoctoral candidates to join our dynamic team. We are seeking individuals with expertise in the fields of Hydrogen Production Processes, Pyrolysis, Gasification, Waste-to-Energy Processes, Reforming, Life Cycle Analysis, and Techno-economic Analysis.

**Research 1: Process Design and Simulation of Hydrogen Production Processes**

- Conduct groundbreaking research in Hydrogen Production Processes, Pyrolysis, Gasification, Reforming such as Steam methane reforming, and Techno-economic Analysis.
- Perform process simulations using industry-standard tools such as Aspen Plus and Hysys.
- Contribute to the development and optimization of sustainable and efficient processes.

**Research 2: Conversion of Feedstocks to Useful Chemicals and Fuels**

- Develop and test catalysts for the SMR for hydrogen production, conduct experimental research on pyrolysis and gasification of crude oil, biomass, organic, municipal waste, etc. to produce fuels and chemicals.
- Design and execute experiments using state-of-the-art equipment to characterize feedstocks, study reaction kinetics, and analyze product compositions.
- Proficiency in operating laboratory equipment such as thermogravimetric analyzers, pyrolysis reactors, gas chromatographs, etc.

**Qualifications:**

- Ph.D. in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven track record with a strong publication history in process simulation and engineering.
- Proficiency in using Simulation Tools (Aspen Plus/Hysys) and developing experimental setups.

Minimum Requirements In addition to the required qualifications, the following criteria are essential for consideration for the position:

- PhD awarded in 2021 or later.
- No grades of D or F (or equivalent) throughout the academic career.
- An average of 5 publications per year in Q1/Q2 journals
- The PhD-granting university must be globally recognized, preferably ranked in the top 200 by QS University Rankings, either overall or by subject.

**How to Apply:**

Interested candidates are invited to submit their CV, a research plan detailing their proposed contributions to the specified areas of focus, a cover letter detailing their relevant experience, and a list of publications to [aasifh@kfupm.edu.sa](mailto:aasifh@kfupm.edu.sa). Please include "Postdoc Application – IRC-HTCM" in the subject line.  The shortlisted candidate will be called for an interview.
