The IRC for Sustainable Energy Systems at KFUPM was recently awarded a fund from National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP) to establish a **Renewable Energy Technical Incubator** at KFUPM. The proposed initiative facilitates and expedites research, development, and innovation (RDI) projects in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and industry 4.0 (IR 4.0) applications in the energy sector.
##### Mission
#####
Establishing a state-of-the-art incubator to inspire students, engineers, researchers, and local communities to realize the full potential of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and Industry 4.0 for relevant technology development in the kingdom.
##### Objective
#####
Build a state-of-the-art Renewable Energy Incubator at KFUPM to facilitate the research, innovation and technology transfer, and implementation of proof-of-concept ideas in the renewable energy sectors that will serve for the accomplishment of the vision of 2030.
##### Programs
#####
The Renewable Energy Incubator administers the following five programs to support research at different Technology Readiness Levels (TRL):
1. Under-Graduate Students: [Click Here](https://ses.kfupm.edu.sa/RETI-Grant/)
2. Graduate Students
3. 50 K Competition
4. Proof of Concept: [Click Here](https://ri.kfupm.edu.sa/dr/funds-and-grants/proof-of-concept-grant) \
5. Business Start-Ups
##### Beneficiaries
#####
Expected beneficiaries of the proposed renewable energy incubator are:
- Undergraduate students (Senior Design and Undergraduate Research)
- Graduate students (Thesis and RDI projects)
- Faculty members and researchers (RDI projects)
- Researchers from other KSA universities
- Business start-up Enthusiasts.
