An internship abroad isn’t just an internship. It’s an opportunity to experience work cultures abroad, improve your foreign language skills and build a global network to support your professional growth all while strengthening your resume.

Global Career Launch (GCL) offers five tracks for internship opportunities.

GCL Customized Internships

Internship abroad programs designed exclusively for UT Austin students. Students will be matched with a six-week summer internship through a trusted placement provider in Barcelona, Madrid, or Seoul.

GCL Faculty-Driven Student Internships

International work experience develops important skills, builds resumes and expands professional networks. Faculty-Driven Internships provide students with the opportunity to intern or conduct research abroad under the guidance of a UT Austin professor.

GCL Internship Providers

Internships with or without coursework are available in more than 30 countries through our affiliate programs and exchange partners.

GCL Alumni and Corporate Internships

Students can search for internships abroad with UT Austin alumni and corporate partners through 12Twenty@Texas. Students who identify an internship abroad should register their travel and receive advising support from the Texas Global Internship Coordinator by contacting international.internships@austin.utexas.edu.

GCL Virtual Internships

The UT Austin Global Career Accelerator is a for-credit virtual internship program that gives students the opportunity to work with diverse collaborative teams across four innovative track offerings. Participants will learn in-demand skills and gain real-world experience from tailored projects developed by international corporations such as Uber, Spotify, Google, Netflix, and Shopify.
