The University of Texas at Austin is committed to making study, research, and other academic pursuits abroad both accessible and safe for faculty, staff and students. As such, we maintain governing policies for official university international travel.
### [Special Notice: Group International Travel](https://global.utexas.edu/risk/travel/restricted-regions/request/group)
If you will be leading a group of students abroad, you are required to first **[obtain approval from Texas Global Risk and Safety](https://global.utexas.edu/risk/travel/restricted-regions/request/group)** AND complete the mandatory **Safety Assessment for International Group Experiences (SAIGE) process**. All travel to locations designated as [Restricted Regions](https://global.utexas.edu/risk/travel/restricted-regions/list) requires approval by the International Oversight Committee.
[Visit the UT Austin Group International Travel Approval Process page for more information](https://global.utexas.edu/risk/travel/restricted-regions/request/group).
The information below pertains to individual travelers.
## Getting Started

If your destination does not appear on the Restricted Regions list, proceed to Step 2.
