Brown University does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, religion, age, disability, status as a veteran, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression, or any other category protected by applicable law, in the administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs, or other school administered programs.

Brown University's [Title IX and Gender Equity Office](https://campus-life.brown.edu/equity-compliance-reporting/title-ix "https://campus-life.brown.edu/equity-compliance-reporting/title-ix") serves students, faculty and staff by ensuring compliance with federal and state civil rights laws and supporting those who report incidents of discrimination or harassment. The Title IX and Gender Equity Office oversees formal and informal resolution processes related to Title IX policies and procedures, and implements support measures and interim actions.

Brown University has two policies and procedures that prohibit sexual harassment, gender-based harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking:

- The [Title IX Policy](https://policy.brown.edu/policy/harassment-assault-violence-and-stalking "https://policy.brown.edu/policy/harassment-assault-violence-and-stalking") implements the Title IX regulations issued by the United States Department of Education Office for Civil Rights.
- The [Title IX Grievance Procedure](https://campus-life.brown.edu/compliance-incident-reporting/title-ix/gender-equity/grievance "https://campus-life.brown.edu/compliance-incident-reporting/title-ix/gender-equity/grievance") is used to resolve formal complaints filed under this policy.

If you have experienced sexual and/or relationship violence, stalking, sexual harassment, and/or gender-based discrimination, there are a variety of resources available to assist you:

- Contact the Title IX and Gender Equity Office to request a consultation – email [titleixoffice@brown.edu](mailto:titleixoffice@brown.edu "mailto:titleixoffice@brown.edu"), call 401-863-2026, or visit the Title IX office at 20 Benevolent Street, Providence.
- Report an incident through the [Gender Discrimination and Sexual Violence Incident Reporting Form](https://cm.maxient.com/reportingform.php?BrownUniv&layout_id=68).
