# Award honours Andreas Hierlemann for his efforts in promoting entrepreneurship

Already in 2022, Andreas Hierlemann, professor or Bio Engineering, received the prestigious Dandelion Entrepreneurship Award, this year in the category: Inspirer & Entrepreneurial Educator. This particular prize is awarded to “professors who ignite an entrepreneurial spirit through their passion, vision, and example”. Well deserved: the spinoff companies Zurich Instruments, InSphero, Shift Cryptosecurity, Validity Labs, and Maxwell Biosystems originate from his lab. Congratulations, Andreas!

Winners of the 2025 Dandelion Award were announced at the DeepTech Investor Summit on 26 January 2026, which was organised by the ETH AI Center, ETH Entrepreneurship and Talent Kick.\
