This Early Childhood Education, BSonline concentration in Professional Education - Non-Licensure is intended for transfer students who have earned an associate degree in early childhood education or closely related field.

This professional non-licensure concentration prepares students to teach young children birth through grade 2 in settings that do not require teacher licensure. Students build upon prior coursework and experience in early childhood to advance their understanding of young children’s learning and their own teaching practices. Coursework includes instructional planning, delivery of instruction, assessment, child development, family and community relationships, content area instruction, and fieldwork in early childhood settings.

A minimum of 120 semester hours of credit is necessary for graduation. Program requirements include successful completion of specified coursework, maintenance of a 2.5 GPA in all coursework taken at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, course grades of C- or above, and successful completion of clinical experiences.
