for the Graduate Minor in Music and Sound Studies


The Music and Sound Studies Minor is designed for graduate students interested in expanding their knowledge of music as a scholarly discipline that encompasses the entire sonic landscape. It is intended in particular for students in fields outside of music who intend to engage with music and sound in their research, teaching, and learning. Courses in the minor cannot be taken for credit/no credit.

Prospective students should contact the Musicology Area Chair, who will schedule an interview and/or email exchange with the prospective student to gauge interest level, reasons for applying, and goals. No audition or formal application is required. More information about the minor, including contact information, can be found on the School Of Music's website.
