The Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics is designed to develop leaders who are able to process data using a programming language (such as R) and understand the interaction between business principles and data analytics, have built an analytic mindset for approaching business problems, have developed the ability to appraise the value of datasets for addressing business problems using summary statistics and data visualizations, have competence in operating business analytic software applications for exploratory data analysis, and have established a foundation for using algorithmic models to understand relationships among variables, make forecasts, and add structure to data.
This Graduate Certificate will not only provide a strong foundational knowledge of data analytics but also provide learners multiple opportunities to apply this knowledge.
Learners who have successfully completed this certificate may use the certificate to satisfy the following degree requirements, provided they apply and are admitted to the degree program:
- 12 hours of elective coursework requirements of the [iMBA](https://catalog.illinois.edu/graduate/bus/business-administration-online-mba/) degree program.
- 12 hours of elective coursework requirements of the [iMSM](https://catalog.illinois.edu/graduate/bus/management-ms/) degree program.
- 12 hours of elective coursework requirements of the [iMSA](https://catalog.illinois.edu/graduate/bus/accountancy-ms/) degree program.

Learners who complete the Business Analytics Graduate Certificate will:
