For those in another teacher education curriculum who want to prepare themselves to gain a subsequent endorsement in ESL on their professional educator license endorsed in a teaching field. Teacher education minors are available only to students seeking to add additional teaching fields to their teaching majors.

The Minor in Teacher Education in English as a Second Language also fulfills coursework necessary for the State of Illinois ESL Endorsement for those teachers who hold a Professional Educator License and who wish to teach ESL in the public school system to students whose native language is not English. The endorsement program provides the course work and clinical experience that meet State of Illinois ESL Endorsement.
