A thematic collaborative initiative at Lund University

Experience Beethoven's Fifth as if you were sitting in the concert hall – or perhaps even better. With the help of AI and other new technologies, researchers are developing an entirely new concert experience.

When you attend a concert digitally, you will be able to choose the camera angle, zoom in on the musicians and adjust the volume for different instruments.

## Interactive and individual streaming

Researchers and students from different faculties at Lund University are exploring new ways to experience concerts in collaboration with businesses and organisations. The aim is to make the experience more accessible, interactive and personalised. If you are experiencing the concert digitally you will be able to influence both what you hear and see. It will also be possible to share the experience with others through, for example, chat functions. 

## Music venues used as labs

Concert halls at Malmö Live and Malmö Opera are used as experimental environments, so-called ‘Living Labs’. Here, a large number of cameras and microphones are connected to a mobile mixing table to create the digital concerts. 

In addition to new technical solutions, the project also explores legal issues. These include the impact of digital concerts on copyright, musicians' working environment and personal integrity. The researchers are also looking at the most suitable payment model for digital concerts.
