Spirituality in Sweden
Sweden is a very secular nation in practice, but the many church buildings throughout the country bear witness to a long historical presence of the Christian faith. More than half of the population in Sweden are members of the Church of Sweden (Svenska Kyrkan), which is Lutheran. However, only a small proportion of its members regularly attend Sunday services. There are also a number of other Christian churches in Sweden – Catholic, Orthodox and Evangelical. The Muslim community is the second largest religious group in Sweden.
The University's Multifaith Chaplaincy (Studentprästerna)
Students of all faiths and non-believers are welcome to contact the student chaplaincy. The student chaplains in Lund serve all students and staff at the University. Three ministers of the Church of Sweden and a pastor and minister of music from the Uniting Church in Sweden work together.
All students are welcome to contact the student chaplaincy if they need someone to talk to. The chaplains offer advice and support and we will only talk about what you want to talk about. All visits are free of charge and confidential. The student chaplains can also help you make contact with a local church or religious organisation.

Rooms for reflection and contemplation on campus
Our campuses in Lund and Helsingborg have rooms for reflection and contemplation. These are non-bookable spaces where students and staff, regardless of their faith or beliefs, can meditate, reflect or pray in silence.
