\ The Vice-Chancellor has overall responsibility for the activities of the entire University and is responsible for leading the organisation under the University Board. This includes monitoring the organisation and taking initiatives for renewal and change. The Vice-Chancellor issues the regulations that are required and has a general supervisory duty regarding the organisation.

Erik Renström is the University’s Vice-Chancellor for the term of office from 1 January 2021 until 31 December 2026.

Erik Renström is a qualified medical doctor and professor of experimental endocrinology and was most recently dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Lund University.

Erik Renström has broad experience of healthcare, academia and industry. He has conducted diabetes research in Lund and Gothenburg and spent time in the United Kingdom as a postdoc. His research has been published in leading journals such as Science, Nature and related publications. \
