Overview

Entrepreneurs and innovators are crucial in a world defined by rapid change, uncertainty, emerging technologies, and climate challenges. Individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset are more important than ever. This programme prepares you to navigate that fast-changing, uncertain world. You’ll build the entrepreneurial mindset and practical skills needed to spot opportunities, respond to uncertainty, and drive innovation – whether by launching a startup or innovating within organisations.

The programme design is twofold: supporting the entrepreneurial process of your startup while attending to your individual learning journey – equipping you to grow as founders and entrepreneurial leaders. You’ll develop core skills needed to build, test and develop a startup.

The programme begins with cutting-edge, research-based insights into the entrepreneurial process and opportunity recognition. Throughout the autumn semester, you will learn methods to test feasibility, desirability, and viability of your startup, design business models, explore team dynamics, reflect on yourself as an entrepreneurial leader, crunch your startup’s numbers, and seek out sources of finance. In the spring, you will design and run real-life experiments to validate your idea and build pitch decks. At the same time, you’ll explore a research-based problem on a contemporary issue within entrepreneurship.

Mentorship programme

As a student in the programme you also participate in our mentorship programme. Each student is matched with a dedicated mentor. Mentors are experienced entrepreneurs, industry leaders, professionals and alumni from the programme. Your mentor is there to support you in your entrepreneurial journey. We ask mentors and mentees to meet at least every three weeks. Mentors also join us in the programme to give feedback during presentations and assignment.

International Master Class

Students with exceptional study results during the first semester at this programme, may compete for seats at the International Master Class programme. The International Master Class is a highly competitive opportunity to go on an exchange semester after finishing your Master’s studies.

Community

You’ll join a close-knit, motivated community where students support each other and share the entrepreneurial journey in an open, high-energy environment.

Startup scene

Embedded in the local startup scene, you’re invited to activities hosted by incubators and innovation support organisations, giving you access to the people, knowledge, and networks that support startups.

LUSEM Startup Hub

Students are encouraged to base themselves at the Startup Hub, a community and open workspace for those interested in startups, located at the heart of the school.

Sustainability

Social and environmental sustainability is woven throughout the programme, ensuring you create value not only for your customers and users, but also for people and the planet.

Spark Lund

Spark Lund is a student-to-student coaching service for early startup ideas, run by students who support peers across the university. You are welcome to join the team.

Programme structure ->

Career prospects

The need for people who can think creatively, act entrepreneurially, and deliver results in uncertain environments has never been greater. Graduates of this programme are equipped to launch their own ventures, join early-stage startups, drive innovation inside larger organisations, and support other startups by working in incubators and similar support environments.

You’ll be prepared for roles where opportunity recognition, problem-solving, experimentation, and leadership are essential. Many graduates pursue careers in venture finance, business development, innovation management, corporate entrepreneurship, product development, venture architecture, continue working within the broader startup and innovation ecosystem, as well as in leadership roles within NGOs.

Some graduates also continue with their startup projects after graduation. Our alumni research shows that many remain engaged in entrepreneurial activity, either as their primary focus or as part of a hybrid career path.
