- Overview
- Teaching and learning

## Overview

The course provides an understanding of the mechanisms driving climate change and how they can be described and analysed using computer models. you will learn basic climatology, how to analyse the consequences of climate change, as well as the link between climate and vegetation, using GIS. Additionally, you will explore how GIS can estimate the impact on the environment and society.

## Teaching and learning

The course is online, giving you the flexibility to study wherever you are. You can choose to study full-time or part-time. The examination is written in the form of a take-home exam at the end of the course, combined with written assignments during the course.

### The course includes the following elements:

- Understanding basic climatology and analysing links between climate systems and vegetation.
- Analysing the consequences of climate change, such as rising sea levels.
- Using GIS to estimate the impact on the environment and society.
- Learning relevant tools to analyse how negative effects can be minimised.
- Plan to reduce damage from extreme events such as floods.
