This information explains what students are entitled to – and in some cases what their responsibilities are. This might be anything from students’ work environment, student influence and equal opportunities, to the rules that apply in cases of cheating and plagiarism.

Your rights and safety

As a student at Lund University, you should feel that the work and study environment is safe and secure. The University continuously works to develop different areas to ensure your studies are as beneficial as possible. This applies to everything from physical, social and organisational aspects of the students’ work environment, to how we can make it easier for those who want to combine studying and being a parent.

You can read more about your rights and how the University works on these issues on the pages below.

The List of Rights for Lund University students

Lund University has a List of Rights that extends to all students at the Bachelor's and Master's levels. The List of Rights is to help clarify what students are entitled to – and in some cases what their responsibilities are.

If something happens during your studies

We want you to feel safe and secure during your time studying at Lund University. We are here to help you if anything happens that makes you feel targeted or vulnerable, or if you are injured or involved in an incident.

You can read more about what applies to various incidents and what support is available on the pages below.

Your responsibilities as a student

As a student at Lund University, you also have responsibilities and obligations. This includes a responsibility shared by students, teaching staff and others at the University to strive for a good work environment.

The laws and regulations applicable to Lund University must of course also be followed.

A basic rule at Lund University is that you must not cheat. When study performance is to be assessed, you are personally responsible for knowing which rules apply to e.g. referencing and citations in the specific course or programme.
