Overview

In this elective, advanced level course you will develop your skills and abilities to conduct policy relevant analyses of health care systems across different countries and contexts. Using a mix of interactive learning tools and challenging cases, the course will give you an opportunity to develop critical skills for assessing and comparing health systems with respect to their organization, financing, and ability to provide services in an equitable and effective way.

Teaching and learning

The course is a 7,5 ECTS, full-time online-only course consisting of lectures, seminars and group exercises.

The course is organized around five parts:

In each part, students will be asked to complete specific tasks with a view to developing the necessary conceptual understanding and technical skills to contribute to policy relevant health systems analysis in various contexts.

After the course

The course will provide future health system professionals with the necessary theoretical and practical skills to contribute to health system strengthening and reform. The course targets students interested in working in various contexts, such as the World Health Organization (WHO), international civil society organizations, national and regional health authorities, and the private sector.

Prerequisites

Bachelor's degree in public health, medicine, health sciences or social sciences or an equivalent discipline.

Selection criteria

Seats are allocated according to: ECTS (HPAV): 100 %.

Tuition fees

Tuition fees for non-EU/EEA citizens

Citizens of countries outside:

are required to pay tuition fees. You pay an instalment of the tuition fee in advance of each \ semester.
