Get new perspectives or deepen your knowledge and earn more credits. X-courses are short, flexible and credit-earning, and you can take them in parallel with your programme.

By studying x-courses, you can supplement your education with new perspectives and knowledge. The courses are specially designed to suit those who are already studying by being:

- short
- flexible
- offered on campus, online or in a hybrid format.

Those who are enrolled at Lund University have priority for course places, but everyone is welcome to apply.

## Try something new or deepen your knowledge

X-courses are perfect if you are looking for something extra, and enable you to benefit from the University’s breadth and expertise. You get the chance to try something outside your main field of study or deepen your knowledge even more. Take the opportunity to network by meeting students from other programmes and encountering other perspectives and get more out of your period of study, while also earning credits.

## Apply for x-courses

You can only apply for these courses in the 'Swedish student' application round. To apply you have to go to the national application website for Swedish students [www.antagning.se](https://www.antagning.se). Once you find the course there, you can follow the same steps as when you apply in the international application round.

[Applying for studies – when to apply](https://www.lunduniversity.lu.se/admissions/bachelors-and-masters-studies/applying-studies-when-apply#later-application-round)

### Applying as an exchange student

If you are applying as an exchange student you can't apply via the national application website for Swedish students. Instead you need to add the course to your 'Proposed study plan' in SoleMove.

## Fees for X courses

As a student you can take additional X courses alongside your regular studies. If you are required to pay tuition fees, the following applies to you:

- If you are admitted to a programme at basic or advanced level, you can take up to 7.5 credits of X courses per semester at no extra cost.
- This exemption only applies if you take the X course as a supplement to your programme studies.
- If you wish to take more than 7.5 credits of X courses or other independent courses in the same semester, you will need to pay tuition fees as usual.

It is important to note that University Admissions will mark fee exemption in Ladok for X courses that fall within the 7.5-credit limit. If you have applied for more than 7.5 credits across several X courses and have been accepted, the fee exemption will be calculated in the order in which you prioritised your applications. If you discover that you have not been exempted from fees for an X course, despite meeting the conditions, you must contact University Admissions directly.

## Course information

If you have any questions about a specific course, please refer to the contact information on the course page.

These courses are open for applications from both national and international students through [antagning.se](http://antagning.se/ "http://antagning.se/"), despite the notice that states 'Closed for applications' when visiting the course webpages linked here.

### Application for exchange students
