Overview
This course provides an introduction to the use of GIS for analyzing biodiversity. You will learn about genetic diversity and species diversity at local, regional, and global levels, as well as which index are used to describe species diversity. The course also covers how different landscape types are structured and how ecosystems, climate, and global vegetation patterns function.
Teaching and learning
This online course is flexible, allowing you to complete it at either a full-time or part-time study rate. The teaching consists of lectures, assignments, and in-depth tasks, and you have the opportunity to influence the content to some extent. The examination takes place throughout the course by completing and getting approved on the mandatory assignments.

Prerequisites
90 ECTS including 30 ECTS in GIS. English 6/English Course B.
Selection criteria
Seats are allocated according to: ECTS (HPAV): 100 %.
Tuition fees
Tuition fees for non-EU/EEA citizens
Citizens of countries outside:
- The European Union (EU)
- The European Economic Area (EEA) and
- Switzerland
are required to pay tuition fees. You pay an instalment of the tuition fee in advance of each \ semester.
