Accessible study rooms may be booked by students registered with the University Disability Services.
Booking Guidelines
- You can book up to 3 hours per day.
- Rooms in the Main Library are open from 08:00 - 22:00
- Booking Consecutive Hours:
-
To book 3 consecutive hours (e.g., 10:00–13:00), you’ll need to combine a 1-hour slot and a 2-hour slot.\ Example:
- Book a 2-hour slot from 10:00–12:00
- Then book a 1-hour slot from 12:00–13:00
- Important: At the end of each slot, you must exit the room and present your card to the door control to confirm your continued use. Failure to present your card to the door control outside the room may mean that your booking is cancelled as you will appear as a no show. Someone else can then book the room during the time that you had booked it for.
- Advance Booking: Eligible users can book rooms up to four weeks in advance.
- Remember: Keep a note of your booking details to ensure you arrive at the correct date and time.
Room Features
- All Accessible Study Rooms include:
- A computer, height-adjustable desk and chair, desk lamp, whiteboard, automatic doors
Additional Information
- Noise Zones:
- Please note that within the Library, Accessible Study Rooms 114 and 204 are located on Floors 1 and 2, which are designated Collaborative Zones. Accessible Study Rooms on Floors 2 Extension, 3, 4, and 5 are in Quiet Zones.
-
While efforts have been made to reduce noise, none of the Accessible Study Rooms are completely soundproof. You may therefore hear some background noise from surrounding areas, especially in Rooms 114 and 204, as they are in collaborative zones.
-
Dictation Software:
- You’re welcome to use dictation tools in all rooms. As the rooms are not completely soundproof, please be mindful of noise levels to avoid disturbing others, especially in Rooms 256, 309, 405, and 505. If available, consider using Room 114 or Room 204 instead.
Please contact if you require any further support.
