Prepare for Your UK Study Adventure
What is it?
The course is developed by Epigeum (part of SAGE Publishing) in 2022, with staff and students in UK universities.
It offers practical advice on living and studying in the UK, peer communication, confidence building, and mental health strategies.
It takes an average of 2 to 4 hours to complete the core content.
What will I learn?
The programme has four modules including:
- Preparing for student life in the UK
- Culture: Adapting and managing expectations
- Effective communication for academic success
- Looking after yourself and finding support

The course is packed full of practical tips, real student voices, and myth-busting exercises, as well as external links for extended reading and space for reflection and feedback.
UK Immigration Update: BRPs Replaced by E-Visas
- Biometric Residence Permits (BRPs) are no longer valid*
- All visa holders must now access their immigration status digitally via the UK government's eVisa system.
*Some course materials may still mention BRPs. These references are outdated and should be ignored.*
This course is recognised as part of the Warwick Award scheme. Completion of this course attracts 2 points towards the Award.

How do I register?
You can register for the programme once you have accepted an offer. You can use either your personal email address, or your Warwick email address.
- Visit https://courses.epigeum.com/register*\ *If you are a Chinese national (based in China) and are having trouble registering then please enter your details on the form found here and we will begin the registration process on your behalf.
- Enter your first name and surname.
- In the 'Institution specific field', enter your 7-digit Warwick student I.D. number - you can find it on your offer letter (for example, 5512345).
- Enter your chosen email address, and choose a password which is NOT the same as your email account.
- Token: c7ff492d(you must enter this in order to access the course).
- Complete the rest of the form and click on 'Register'.
- Check your inbox for your activation link.
- Activate your link.

Q1: Who can access the course?
This course is designed specifically for international students.
However, it is open to all students and staff at the University of Warwick, and Home students may find certain aspects of the course useful as well.
Q2: When can I start the course?
You can start the course once you have accepted an offer to study a Warwick.
If you start your course in September, we recommend that you complete the course in July or August.
We strongly recommend that you complete the course before you travel to the UK.

Q4: Are there anything specific to Warwick students?
The course is designed for all international students coming to study at UK universities and so gives generic information that is not specific to Warwick.
However, the University of Warwick provides tailored support which you can access once you arrive, see International Student Support page.
Q5: Do I have to complete the whole course at one go?
No.
You can log in and out, and complete the course over a number of days and weeks if you prefer.
Once registered, you can access the course for the whole of this academic year.
You can also re-do the quiz at the end of each module, and only the highest score will be stored as your final score.
