Computational

Research into theoretical and computational chemistry complements experimental work in organic, inorganic and physical chemistry. Computational studies provide an important part of the research activities of the School of Chemistry. The School is well equipped with related facilities and is associated with the Trinity Centre for High Performance Computing (TCHPC). Founded in 1997, this facility is Ireland's premier academic High Performance Computing Centre providing large-scale supercomputing, data management and visualization facilities for Trinity College, Dublin. The Centre lies at the heart of Trinity's computational science initiative with a primary mission to facilitate research, across a wide range of disciplines, through the use of advanced computing techniques. The Centre currently employs ten experienced researchers and technical staff in the areas of numerical modeling, molecular dynamics, software engineering, complex data analysis, supercomputing, visualization, systems administration and Linux training.
