The School of Histories and Humanities is strongly committed to creating and maintaining a welcoming and inclusive environment for all staff and students, regardless of nationality, ethnicity, gender, sexuality or social background. In partnership with Trinity’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Office, we seek to foster a diverse student body and to identify, and work to remove, barriers to participation in Histories and Humanities education by all sectors of our community.

The School has a proud tradition of teaching and researching the histories of gender and sexuality and of promoting equality and diversity across our curriculum. The School hosts the Centre for Gender and Women’s Studies, through which the School is proud to be involved in the SAGE project (Systematic Action for Gender Equality).

We have held an Athena SWAN Bronze Award, in recognition of our ongoing work on gender equality in our community, since 2021. The award was renewed in 2025, and the School EEDI Committee is currently working to advance the Action Plan submitted in connection with our application.

Any student or staff member who has suggestions or issues they would like to bring to our attention is invited to contact their representative on the Committee (details below). In the event that you have experienced or witnessed an incidence of bullying, harassment or sexual misconduct, you are strongly encouraged to report it using the self-reporting tool below.
