Cenergise is an Irish energy trading company operating in the European power markets. Cenergise is currently registered in the following markets: Ireland, Great Britain, France, the Netherlands and Belgium. Cenergise has three divisions to its business: proprietary trading, client trading and supply. This role covers all divisions of the business.
The Position
Cenergise is seeking to hire a Graduate Software Engineer.
As a software engineer, you will be responsible for integrating our systems with trading platforms used in energy trading throughout Europe. The systems we develop use a high level of automation, allowing traders to trade with minimal manual intervention. Our IT infrastructure is all cloud based, and you will be responsible for ensuring high levels of reliability and efficiency. In addition to providing IT services to Traders and Analysts, you will also need to support other departments such as Finance, Risk and Settlement with their IT requirements. There is a wide variety of protocols, security implementations, data formats, integration technologies and AWS services that make up our IT infrastructure, which you will need support and improve.
Job Requirements – Essential
- Primary degree in Computer Science/Engineering
- Familiarity with data structures, security protocols, cloud infrastructure
- Desire to continuously learn, work independently and develop creative solutions to problems
- Be able to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable code that serves the business case
- Understand how to test to ensure high-quality, production-ready code
- Strong work ethic
- Good attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
Job Requirements – Preferred
- Bash shell scripting
- Experience working with relational databases and query languages
- Knowledge of AWS Infrastructure
- Linux/Ubuntu experience
- Python experience – Additional experience in C#, C++, JavaScript or Java
