This project will be supported by colleagues in the School of Medicine and the PARADISE research group. ANCA Vasculitis is a rare auto-immune disease in which sufferers are susceptible to flares, whereby a person’s immune system attacks their own body. This project will involve analysing data measuring patient’s quality of life using the EQ-5D procedure. … [Read more](https://projects.scss.tcd.ie/project/modelling-quality-of-life-for-anca-vasculitis-patients/ "TAKEN: Modelling quality of life for ANCA Vasculitis patients")

In this project you will use public datasets from Met Eireann and Dublin City Council to understand which factors influence cycling participation in Dublin. Very broadly, the goal of the project is to try and understand what kinds of policy decisions might help to promote active travel. This project will be supported by a colleague … [Read more](https://projects.scss.tcd.ie/project/using-public-data-to-predict-and-plan-cycling-participation-in-urban-areas/ "TAKEN: Using Public Data to Predict and Plan Cycling Participation in Urban Areas")

This project will be in collaboration with Prof. Olive Healy in the School of Psychology and is suitable for students in the Statistics and Data Science, Statistics and Sustainability, and Data Science MSc programmes. The goal of this project will be to analyse data extracted from an online survey of adults who have received a … [Read more](https://projects.scss.tcd.ie/project/cluster-analysis-to-improve-understanding-of-adult-diagnosis-of-autism/ "TAKEN: Cluster analysis to improve understanding of adult diagnosis of Autism")

ELIGIBILITY: This project is for a student taking the MSc in Statistics and Sustainability. In agriculture, grasslands can play an important role in producing feed for animals and maintaining soil health in crop rotations. In recent years, mixing plant species with complementary traits have been proposed to reduce the quantity of synthetic fertiliser required to … [Read more](https://projects.scss.tcd.ie/project/the-design-and-analysis-of-experiments-testing-the-effects-of-species-and-cultivar-diversity-in-agricultural-grasslands/ "The design and analysis of experiments testing the effects of species and cultivar diversity in agricultural grasslands")

In this project we are exploring non-parametric methods for the estimation of probability density functions and for regression. The interested Student must be comfortable with Statistics and Mathematics. The Student must do a search about kernel density estimation and Nadaraya–Watson kernel regression. You may also have a look in Prof. Tsybakov’s book “Introduction to nonparametric … [Read more](https://projects.scss.tcd.ie/project/kernel-density-estimation-and-regression/ "Kernel density estimation and regression")

This project is particularly for the Students in Statistics and Sustainability. The interested Student should first check the papers: Establishing the link: Does web traffic from various marketing channels influence direct traffic source purchases? | Marketing Letters (springer.com) Unveiling digital dynamics: Do digital media investments impact organic branded searches? | Journal of Marketing Analytics The … [Read more](https://projects.scss.tcd.ie/project/statistics-in-marketing/ "Statistics in Marketing")

The project will deal with the statistical analysis of meteorological data. See for example here: 🌤️ Free Open-Source Weather API | Open-Meteo.com The interested Students, must do a good search in this or another relevant data, contact me for confirmation and then they can request the project.
