Over 150 of our Bachelor degree courses can be studied with an integrated International Foundation Year. Once you’ve passed the initial International Foundation Year, you can progress directly onto your chosen undergraduate degree.

During the International Foundation Year, you’ll study a mixture of subject-specific modules along with English language and academic study skills content to fully prepare you for your undergraduate degree.

Arts and Social Sciences courses

You’ll take the Arts and Social Sciences International Foundation Year route to progress onto the following undergraduate degrees:

During the International Foundation Year, you’ll study the core module in Academic Study Skills in English and additional modules selected from a range of arts and social sciences subjects.

Business courses

You’ll take the Business International Foundation Year route to progress onto the following undergraduate degrees:

During the International Foundation Year, you’ll study the core academic Study Skills in English module, as well as business modules including Foundations of Economics, Introduction to International Business, Introductory Management and Maths for Business. There are also optional modules depending on your chosen undergraduate degree.

Design courses

You’ll take the Design International Foundation Year route to progress onto the following undergraduate degrees:

During the International Foundation Year, you’ll study the Academic Study Skills in English core module and modules offered within the School of Design, which will help you develop the skills and knowledge needed for your design degree.

Engineering courses

You’ll take the Engineering International Foundation Year route to progress onto the following undergraduate degrees:

During the International Foundation Year, you’ll study the Academic Study Skills in English core module and core Maths modules, as Maths is pivotal to your future Engineering studies. You’ll also study either Chemistry or Physics.

Healthcare courses

You’ll take the Healthcare International Foundation Year route to progress onto the following undergraduate degrees:

During the International Foundation Year, you’ll study the Academic Study Skills in English core module and modules from two subject areas, depending on your chosen undergraduate degree. The subject areas include Chemistry, Biology, Maths and Physics.

Science courses

You’ll take the Science International Foundation Year route to progress onto the following undergraduate degrees:

During the International Foundation Year, you’ll study the Academic Study Skills in English core module and modules from two subject areas, depending on your chosen undergraduate degree. The subject areas include Chemistry, Web programming and technologies, Biology, Business, Maths, Geology and Physics.
