# Study-choice check

**Source**: https://www.tue.nl/en/education/bachelor-college/study-choice-check
**Parent**: https://www.tue.nl/en/education/bachelor-college

Choosing the right bachelor's degree program increases your chances of success. We will help you by looking at whether the program you have applied for is a good match. This study-choice check is mandatory for all Dutch bachelor's degree programs that do not have a [**selection procedure**](https://www.tue.nl/en/education/bachelor-college/selection/).

## Is the study-choice check outcome binding?

Completing the study-choice check is **mandatory**, but the outcome does not influence your admission to the program. The main purpose of the study-choice check is to help you reflect on your choice of program and the fit between the program and you. Consider the check a useful way to prepare yourself for your studies.

If the outcome is **positive**, and their appears a good fit between the program and you, you can take it as a good sign.

If the outcome indicates that the fit between you and the program is **not very good**, that means we recommend that you do further research into this program and others.

## What to do if the outcome is not so good?

It may not be immediately clear what to do if the study-choice check indicates that the fit between the program and you is only so-so or even poor. To help you, we offer the option to talk to one of our study-choice coaches: to discuss topics like what to do next, how to find a bachelor's degree program that matches your skills and interests and how to ask the right questions to determine a good match. To request a conversation with a study-choice coach, send an email via the contact form.

If you have questions that do not have anything to do with the study-choice check outcome, for instance about the contents of a bachelor's degree program, please contact the program’s study advisor. Look for contact details on the homepage of that program or click on one of the bachelor programs below.

## Questionnaire, report, interview and study-choice days

After you have submitted your application to Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in [Studielink](https://www.studielink.nl/), the Dutch enrollment portal, you will get an invitation to do the study-choice check.

The study-choice check consists of at least:

- An online questionnaire
- An advice report
- An interview with a representative of your program about the report (on campus or by telephone/MS Teams/Skype)

The study-choice check of most programs includes mandatory additional (online) activities (representative educational experience), such as a test, a video lecture, a presentation, and/or an assignment. The respective program determines whether these activities take place on campus and/or online.

The study-choice check will be finalised with the study-choice days. The dates for 2025 will be posted on this page once they have been set.
