"I HELP DOCTORS SELECT PATIENTS FOR A PACEMAKER"
If something is wrong with the electrical conductivity of your heart, you may sometimes benefit from a pacemaker, but not always. I am working on a mathematical model of the human heart and the human circulatory system. We saw that not only the electrical, but also the mechanical properties of the heart influence the success of a pacemaker. This could help doctors in their patient selection. The TU/e Medical Engineering program has a strong reputation, with courses at TU/e and modules in the hospital. You do projects with people from different backgrounds, which is good for your communication skills. The city of Eindhoven has a great atmosphere and many activities, all within cycling distance. The program really focuses on the collaboration between engineering and the hospital, which is great. In the future I would like to work in a hospital environment.
