If you are an excellent student at Fontys, Avans or Zuyd Hogeschool, you may be eligible to join the HBO TOP program. This will make it easier for you to enroll in a master’s degree program at Eindhoven University of Technology. This is not the same as a pre-master program, since you are still working on your HBO bachelor’s degree.

Eligibility requirements

• You have been selected by Fontys, Avans, Zuyd Hogeschool or by TU/e
• You have your first-year HBO diploma (propedeuse) and are making sufficient progress
• You are interested in doing a master’s degree program at TU/e

Characteristics of the HBO TOP Excellence track

• Admission to a TU/e masters degree program
• The course load may be part of your HBO course profile
• You will receive ECTS for your HBO TOP courses

How to apply

The HBO TOP program was developed for Fontys, Avans and Zuyd Hogeschool. Your school will put your name forward if you are eligible.

If you are not a student at Fontys, Avans or Zuyd Hogeschool and you are interested in applying for HBO TOP, contact TU/e Education and Student Affairs via the contact form below.

You need to meet the following conditions:

• Student has passed the propaedeutic year of his/her HBO program
• The average weighted grade, measured over the completed program years 2 and 3 of the bachelor's program, is at least 7.5 at the moment of intake
• Recommendation letter from the HBO institution where the student is following his/her study
• Sufficient knowledge of mathematics:
• passed evening course 2DL00 at TU/e ,
• VWO diploma with Mathematics B,
• Mathematics B certificate from Boswell-Beta,
• Mathematics B certifiate from De Centrale Commissies Voortentamen​​​​​​​,
• Mathematics B certificate from Korteweg-de Vries Institute for Mathematics.
