Would you like to learn how to absorb comprehensive know-how in the field of operations, supply chain and logistics – and how to grow into a leadership role? Are you interested in applying that knowledge as a logistics manager, analyzing the current operational performance of an organization in terms of production and distribution? Do you want to develop the skills to understand an executive overview of the flow of goods between the point of origin and point of consumption? If so, then Operations Management and Logistics at TU/e may well be the master’s program you’re looking for!
Let’s be sure we understand the terminology:
- Operations form the base of every organization, whether in manufacturing, service or non-profit industries. Operations extend from the performance management of a group of design engineers or building in quality feedback loops to the precise prediction of production and delivery performance. Supply chain management and service engineering are also part of operations management.
- Logistics manages the distribution process of resources, ranging from physical items – food, liquids, animals, equipment and materials – to more abstract items such as information, particles and energy.
What OML is about: analyzing an organization’s operational performance. OML is a multidisciplinary field that focuses on the efficiency and effectiveness of an organization’s operational activities. Our MSc program equips you with the theories, tools, and techniques to analyze, explain, and optimize an organization’s performance in terms of quality, cost, and time. You’ll not only learn to assess processes—you’ll learn how to redesign them for better results.

You are curious about both strategic decision-making and operational execution, and you aspire to lead in environments where operational excellence drives real business impact.

Why TU/e?
This MSc program at TU/e gives you the theory, tools, and techniques to manage and optimize operations. You’ll apply your knowledge in projects and research, analyzing performance and improving processes for real impact. The program is highly flexible: choose one of four tracks—Smart Services, Supply Chain Management, Smart Industry, or Analytics for Transport and Mobility—and tailor electives to your interests, including AI and data science. Your thesis will align with your track and personal focus, and opportunities like double degrees and honors programs further enhance your learning. With personalized supervision and a diverse curriculum, you’ll graduate as an academically trained engineer with broad expertise in Operations Management and Logistics and the skills to make strategic and operational decisions that drive results.
